Ilayathalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie 'Velayudham' with director 'Jayam' Raja under Aascar Productions banner is all set to kick off.

Recently photoshoot of this movie which featured Vijay, Genelia, Hansika & Saranya Mohan took place at Prasath Studio, saligramam, chennai.

The pooja of the film which was planned earlier on June 21st at the Nehru Stadium is postponed now due to some unavoidable cirumstances. Now sources from the 'Velayudham' team say that they have been planning to launch the movie on June 24th without much delay.

So now it's celebration time for Vijay Fans as Vijay's 'Kaavalan' shooting is going on at rapid pace which is nearing completion and now 'Velayudham' is all set to kick off soon !

After completing his golden jubilee film Sura Illayathalapathy Vijay's string of mass commercial films seems to be put on a hold for now. His next venture has kick started early in April at Kumbakonam and the shooting is on now.

This is Vijay's second film with director Siddique after their previous blockbuster outing Friends, and lady lead is Vijay's lucky charm Asin who comes back to Tamil Cinema after a long stint in bollywood.

The movie's name is yet to be confirmed. The remake of Malayalam movie bodyguard, this is also said to be a family entertainer like Friends and has all commercial ingredients woven around a loe story.

Sources close to Vijay say , the movie of the name is THALAPATHY and it will be released under Udhayanithi Stalin's Red Giant Movies banner.
